Unfortunately for many those involved in networking events, office get-togethers, social outings and other discussions, the topic of conversation often gravitate toward sports, sports events and sports news. People tend to gravitate toward common ground, especially when mingling with strangers; sadly tech news, business news or even world event news are not “common” enough.
I think a great idea for a website would be a news site that provides sports news for non-sports readers. What are the big pieces of news from a conversation standpoint? Isaiah Thomas was fired and then banned from talking to his ex-players, Favre quit, someone was headbutted during the world cup?
I looked around a bit for this, and didn’t find anything promising. There could also be similar news for politics, business, world news, etc.
I’m not sure what that says about me as a lazy American, but I would LOVE to have a new source like that on everything: politics, home-buying, shopping, entertainment. If you ever create this site, will you make sure there is a host that reads the information so I don’t have to read it myself? Thanks!
I will definitely find a reader for the site, I’m thinking an elderly British voice.
